It is inevitable: the number of inhabitants in cities keeps on growing and everyone wants to be free to move around easily.

In our ever-more pressing lives, bigger and increasingly powerful cars designed decades ago occupy the streets of cities built centuries ago.

Scooters and mopeds save time and money, however being protected only by a helmet, riders are exposed to the elements and are 20 times more likely to be involved in a serious accident.

Public transport, on the other hand, very often will not take us to our final destinations. Furthermore, we often do not have sufficient time to take public transport. Not to mention the crowds and lack of cleanliness which at times make public transport unpleasant.

For these reasons most people still choose to travel to and around town by car.

Our cars are full of empty seats and space.

- 85% of cars on urban roads have just the driver on board.

- Only 5% of cars have more than two people on board.

So why are city streets and pavements clogged with cars built for 5 passengers with enough luggage space for a complete set of large suitcases?

Where is the logic in manufacturing and fueling 1500 kilos of metal and plastic (2500 kilos in the case of SUVs) to carry around one 85kg person?

More weight corresponds to greater fuel consumption. Greater fuel consumption means more emissions: that is more CO2, pollutants, noise and money to move around ... lots empty space!
